Sejarah Program Studi Teknik Geodesi

Program   studi   Teknik   Geodesi   pertama   kali   dibuka   pada   tahun   1985 berdasarkan SK Mendiknas No.: 070/O/1985  dengan status “Terdaftar”. Pada tahun 1992  berubah  statusnya  menjadi  “diakui”,  berdasarkan  SK  Dirjen  Dikti  No.: 170/DIKTI/Kep/1992.   Dan   pada   tahun   1998   statusnya   meningkat   menjadi “disamakan”,  berdasarkan  SK  Dirjen  Dikti  No.:  0395/O/1998.

Pada  tahun 1998 Program Studi Teknik Geodesi diakreditasi untuk yang pertama kali oleh Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi (BAN-PT) dan mendapatkan  peringkat “B”,  Selanjutnya  pada tahun 2003 Program studi Teknik Geodesi diakreditasi untuk yang kedua kali oleh BAN-PT dan mendapatkan peringkat “B”, Akreditasi yang terakhir dilakukan oleh Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi (BAN-PT) adalah pada tahun 2009 dan mendapatkan peringkat “B” berdasarkan SK BAN PT Nomor: 027/BAN-PT/Ak-XII/S1/IX/2009.

Sebagaimana arti Geodesi yaitu ilmu pengetahuan tentang pengukuran dan   penggambaran bentuk permukaan bumi maka, Jurusan Teknik Geodesi ITN Malang adalah wadah pembinaan generasi muda untuk menjadi tenaga Ahli Madya dalam bidang survei pemetaan dan sistem informasi spasial di masa depan.
